Founder/Executive Director – Trans Empowerment Project

At Trans Empowerment Project, I developed a repeatable approach to program-building: By listening to the data for recurring needs, we have been able to identify the larger systemic gaps, while designing a scalable response, and adapting it to the organization’s actual capacity.

  • Housing safety: Built 45 trained and vetted host homes supporting an estimated 150 people.
  • Community care: Developed clothing access, microgrants, direct aid, and other responses to urgent material needs.
  • Education and leadership: Created trainings, organizing pathways, and digital communities that have helped thousands of people move from receiving support to taking action.

 

 

Distributed Organizing Tools & Digital Communities Manager – Sierra Club

 

Turning tool confusion into organizing muscle.

7,000+ volunteers. Four tools. One support system built to move people.

At Sierra Club, I developed a Digital Defenders program, bringing disconnected organizing tools into one strategic support program for staff and volunteers. The work supported a volunteer Slack space of more than 7,000 people, trained over 1,500+ staff and volunteers, strengthened trust in digital tools, and helped power voter contact efforts that reached 25,000+ voters.

Digital Organizer - Planned Parenthood Action Fund

Turned national crisis moments into clear, high-engagement digital action.

At Planned Parenthood Action Fund, I helped move hundreds of thousands of supporters from confusion and outrage into action across some of the most urgent fights of 2018, including Protect X for Title X, Title IX protections with End Rape on Campus, public education during the Brett Kavanaugh and Dr. Christine Blasey Ford hearings, and voter registration through MTV’s +OneTheVote. My work helped power PPFA’s highest-performing C3 voter engagement campaign among MTV partners, while supporting a digital community of 386,000+ email/SMS subscribers and helping recruit and train 145 volunteer teams in three months.

Founder, Editor-in-Chief  -The Home Grown Zine

Before “community building” became a buzzword, I was building one from scratch.

Through Home Grown Zine, I created a Myrtle Beach music and culture platform that pulled local artists, bands, venues, reporters, and readers into the same orbit. The site generated 700,000+ hits in three months, helped grow the local scene, trained about a dozen field reporters, and turned a Battle of the Bands-inspired show into food support for more than 200 homeless people.
